“I find comfort in contemplating the sunflowers”. Vincent Van Gogh

Sunflowers bloom, grow and turn toward the sun – we all need a little sunshine in our lives. I am on my own journey to bloom, grow and reach for the sun myself, entering this world of printmaking. I want to create both beauty and a sense of calm and comfort. Photography and drawing are also very important parts of this process and I continue to practice. I like sharing scenes from my native Vermont as well as other favorite places and images that will speak to people and make them smile. I look at the world around me and wonder what lines need to be carved, which ones left and what will be inked/not inked! How do I construct my vision and environment so I can share what I see with others and help them appreciate the beauty of our world? Then you bring your emotions, experiences and feelings to it and we get to share a moment.

I feel so fortunate to be able to work at Lynn Newcomb's beautiful studio in Northfield, VT(www.lynnnewcombvt.com). It is a gorgeous space ripe for creativity and she has a wonderful American French Tool press with a 32 x 60 bed.
